The Art of Good Timing

Every once in a while I receive a message that piques a sense of zemblanity;
"I only just found you... and I saw you've already left my city."
Or perhaps:
"I didn't realise I'd need to book so far in advance."
Don’t get me wrong, I am very privileged to be booked out, but I genuinely wish I had the capacity to say yes to everyone who reaches out. As my work has grown over the years, so has the demand on my time, which has changed the way I plan my calendar.
So if you're thinking about booking with me, whether it's next month or next year, I'd like to share how it all works behind the scenes. Because international tours are determined and triple-confirmed long before I've boarded the plane. The booking process often begins six months earlier. I do my best to announce my international tours at least six months to a year in advance.
The system I have in place currently is: I will contact my wonderful clients whom I saw previously in said city and who have been patiently waiting for my return; they often begin securing their dates first. Others who have previously asked to be notified are contacted so they have an opportunity to organize work, travel or childcare before the dates are released publicly.
Before I've even thought about packing a suitcase, a large portion of the tour may already be spoken for.
When the posts appear on social media and excitement builds, my availability is often incredibly limited.
If you've been hoping we'll meet overseas one day, let me suggest one thing: don't wait until the tour feels close before reaching out.
The waitlist on my website is more valuable than you might think and incredibly helpful to how I operate, both as a business and as an AUDHD human. I've had countless people tell me they almost didn't bother joining the waitlist because they assumed nothing would come of it. But then sometimes “life happens”: a flight changes, a client needs to reschedule, I extend my stay by a day or two, or, god forbid, I get sick via burnout (2024 was a tough year for touring) and I have to rebuild the entire tour from scratch for 2-3 months later.
And suddenly there's an opening where there wasn't one before.
The waitlist isn't simply a mailing list. It's the first place I look when availability unexpectedly appears.
Some of my favorite bookings have happened because a beautiful person found the courage to send a message seeking a new experience, help with their fear of intimacy, or a holiday boyfriend to go on adventures with; either way, they left their name there months earlier.
Fortunately, Australia offers a little more flexibility for my clients and me, as domestic touring tends to be a little easier to coordinate. I travel around Australia quite regularly, in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane throughout the year, and do enjoy the occasional trip to Perth and Adelaide for business and pleasure. While some cities can certainly fill up quickly; there's usually a little more wiggle room to move than with international destinations.
If you know you'd like to see me, even if it's several months away, I encourage you to reach out. There’s always a promise of not biting (only consensual biting). I'd much rather spend ten minutes planning something wonderful together than send an apologetic message saying I'm already fully booked.
I will add a quick note on feedback I’ve heard: clients have said that booking a virtual call first made a world of difference to how they felt on the day, providing a more relaxed and regulated build-up to the in-person booking. That makes sense to me, since it’s hard to get a read on energy from social media alone, especially if I’m on the other side of the world. So a 45min call is always a great way to begin a connection, show that I am a real human and not a catfish, and get to know each other, even if sometimes I am getting my steps in on the walking pad at the same time.
Once we've found a date that suits us both, confirming your booking is actually quite straightforward. Firstly, I'll ask you to choose your preferred duration and time. While it's often possible to extend our time together if my schedule allows, the more details I have, the better I can prepare and ensure I'm fully present for our time together. To reserve your booking, I require a 50% confirmation deposit for international trips (20% for domestic tours). Once that's received, your date and time are secured and I can confidently plan around our rendezvous.
If you're a first-time client, I'll also ask for a copy of your photo ID. This is simply for age verification and security. You're very welcome to cover details such as your address or license number if you'd prefer. Discretion is something I value deeply, for both of us.
We'll also decide whether you'd prefer an incall (I will host) or an outcall (you will host). If I'm touring, my incalls are generally hosted from my accommodation, while outcalls are available within my touring area.
Then comes my favorite part. I get the brilliant opportunity to learn all about you and ask all the questions (as I am assuming you know enough about me from the answers I post to questions on Tiktok and other social media platforms.)
I like to learn enough to understand who you are and what has drawn you here, but also how we went from being strangers on opposite ends of the globe to being in the same room. Potentially telling me what you're hoping to feel, what you've been fantasizing about, what you’re most nervous or excited about, whether you've ever done anything like this before and whether you're celebrating, healing, exploring or simply craving a thrill or genuine connection.
Every person arrives for a different reason and no two people are ever the same. The more I understand what you're hoping for, the more thoughtfully I can shape an experience that feels uniquely yours.
There’s a little secret I've noticed over the years: nobody regrets making contact too early. People do, however, often tell me they wish they'd reached out sooner. So if you've been quietly following along, waiting for the "perfect" moment to enquire, consider this your gentle (consensual) nudge to join the waitlist. We won’t ever be completely prepared or have every detail figured out at the beginning. You don't need to know exactly what you want.
Sometimes all it takes is a conversation.
The rest, we can create together.
Intentionally.
I look forward to meeting you somewhere around Australia or perhaps somewhere on the other side of the world.
